Our Folks in the News

NJ-12

Our man Rep. Rush Holt thinks the U.S. needs more funding for rail security. He, Mike Castle (R-DE), and Steve Lynch (D-MD) sponsored an amendment to this year's Department of Homeland Security budget that would increase funding by $50 million.

LA-03

Our man Rep. Charlie Melancon has brought more federal money to rebuild his district, which was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina, despite his rating as one of Congress's least effective members.

Rhode Island Governor

Gov. Carcieri has resorted to unsubstantiated scare tactics in his effort to keep his job. He claims a mysterious "they" are trying to return Rhode Island to an era of corruption, though he never explicitly says whether our man Lt. Gov. Charlie Fogarty is one of "them." When asked by a reporter whether the campaign was going to get ugly, he responded: "I have no idea. I’m not going to."

VA-02

MoveOn.org is airing a television ad for another one of our competitive House races. The advertisement is the same one mentioned below that criticizes members for accepting money from defense contractors while refusing to impose stricter penalties on war profiteers.

KY-04

Rep. Geoff Davis's campaign is criticizing our man Ken Lucas for his most recent family vacation. A recent press release claimed Lucas must have chosen Africa as a travel destination because he went every where else when he was in Congress. Experts agree this is one of the most ridiculous political attacks of all time.

OH-15

A cable network and an Ohio TV station are refusing to air a MoveOn.org ad criticizing incumbent Rep. Deborah Pryce. The ad criticizes Pryce for accepting campaign money from defense contractors while voting against strict penalties for war profiteering. Sounds like the truth hurts.

NM-01

The Ragin' Cajun stopped off in New Mexico this week to stump for our lady Attorney General Patricia Madrid. In a turn of phrase that is certain to catch on like wildfire, Carville called Madrid's opponent, incumbent Rep. Heather Wilson, a "robot for power."
